🕹️ Gamepad Tester – FAQs
Gamepad Tester is an Android utility that lets you test and troubleshoot your gamepad or controller in real time. You can check button response, joystick movement, and trigger pressure instantly using a clean graphical and text-based interface.
Simply connect your controller via USB, Bluetooth, or OTG. Once connected, the app will display all input data live on the screen. You can switch between different modes like Gamepad or Universal Mode based on your controller type.
The app supports most standard Android gamepads, Xbox controllers, and PS4 DualShock (v1 & v2) via Universal Mode. Make sure your Android device supports the controller you’re testing, especially for wireless connections.
Check your connection first—ensure Bluetooth is on or the USB cable is firmly connected. If that doesn’t work, try Universal Mode. Still not working? Your device may not support the controller, or the controller could be faulty.
🎮 PS4 Controller Tester – FAQ
You can test buttons, analog sticks, triggers, vibration feedback, and connection status. The app shows all responses in real time through an interactive graphical interface.
To connect, press and hold the Share and PS buttons on the controller until the light flashes. Then enable Bluetooth on your phone and pair it from the Bluetooth settings. For wired connections, use a USB OTG cable.
Make sure your controller is fully charged and properly connected via Bluetooth or USB OTG. Try restarting your device and controller. If the issue persists, confirm your Android version supports external controllers.

No, the app helps test and diagnose issues, but it doesn’t repair hardware faults. For physical problems, contact Sony support or a technician.
✳️ Compatibility & Technical
Yes, our apps support most major controllers like Xbox, PS4, PS5, and generic USB/Bluetooth gamepads. Note: the app only helps you test and diagnose — it doesn’t fix hardware faults. Contact Sony or your controller manufacturer for physical issues.
Absolutely. You can connect controllers using either Bluetooth or a USB OTG cable. For wired gamepads, ensure your Android device supports OTG. For wireless pairing, enable Bluetooth and follow the manufacturer’s connection steps.
Newer Android versions like Android 10 or 11 may assign different key codes to buttons. If you notice mismatched inputs, switch to “Universal Mode” inside the app for better compatibility.
If your controller supports battery reporting (like DualShock 4 or DualSense), the app can display the current battery level. Otherwise, battery status may not be available due to hardware limitations.
